Gong vs. Chorus vs. Clari: Which Revenue Intelligence Tool Fits?

Gong tells you what actually happened on a call. Clari tells you whether you're going to hit the number this quarter. Chorus tells you who you were even talking to, tied back into a prospecting database most of these buyers already run. All three get labeled "revenue intelligence." Only one of those three jobs is what any given team actually needs most.

Here's what each one is actually built to answer, what it costs and which team each job description fits.

What Each Platform Actually Answers

Gong is conversation intelligence first: call recording, transcription and post-call analysis built for reps and managers who need to know what was said and how a deal is actually progressing. It's still the category leader on this specific job, with the deepest rep-coaching analytics and the widest multi-language support of the three.

Clari is forecasting first, built for CROs and boards who need top-down pipeline visibility more than call-by-call detail. Clari acquired Wingman to layer call recording and real-time coaching onto its forecasting suite, but the forecasting layer is still the actual product, not an add-on.

Chorus works differently from both. It's built as a context-capture engine that feeds into ZoomInfo's broader GTM data graph, so it pulls ahead specifically for teams that already live inside ZoomInfo and want call insights sitting next to the prospect data they're already using.

Real Pricing

Gong costs $160 to $250 a month per user, priced at the top of the category for the depth it offers. Clari starts at $100 to $125 a month per user for its Copilot forecasting layer, notably cheaper per seat than Gong despite doing a different job, not a lesser version of the same one. Chorus bundles into ZoomInfo's own pricing, running roughly $8,000 a year for three seats when purchased alongside ZoomInfo's prospecting data rather than as a standalone product.

Where Each One Actually Falls Short

Gong wins on UI maturity and benchmarking depth, but it's priced and positioned as conversation intelligence specifically. It doesn't replace a real forecasting tool if the board wants top-down pipeline visibility, not call transcripts.

Clari Copilot has a smaller analyst-recognition footprint as a standalone conversation-intelligence product and doesn't match Gong's depth on multi-language support or granular rep coaching. That's the tradeoff for getting forecasting as the primary product instead of a bolt-on.

Chorus isn't a fit at all for a team with no existing ZoomInfo relationship. Buying it standalone, disconnected from ZoomInfo's data, means paying for a context-capture engine with nothing to connect it to.

Comparison Table

Category Gong Clari Chorus
Primary job Conversation intelligence Forecasting & pipeline visibility Context capture tied to ZoomInfo
Pricing $160-250/user/mo $100-125/user/mo ~$8,000/yr for 3 seats (with ZoomInfo)
Strongest at Rep coaching, call benchmarking Top-down forecast accuracy Prospect data + call insight together
Weakest at Forecasting depth Standalone CI feature depth Standing alone without ZoomInfo
Best for Sales managers coaching reps CROs and boards tracking the number Teams already deep in ZoomInfo

Gong vs. Chorus vs. Clari: Which One Should You Actually Use?

  • You need to know what's actually happening on calls and coach reps on it. Gong. The depth of its rep-coaching analytics and benchmarking is what the other two are built around, not competing on directly.
  • The board wants pipeline accuracy more than call-level detail. Clari. Forecasting is the actual product here, not a feature bolted onto a conversation-intelligence tool.
  • You already run ZoomInfo for prospecting. Chorus. It's priced and built to sit inside a relationship you already have, not to replace it.
  • You have no existing ZoomInfo relationship and no immediate forecasting mandate from leadership. Gong. It's the safest default for a team whose real need is understanding calls, which is the most common starting need across all three.

FAQ

Can I use more than one of these together?
Yes. It's common at larger orgs: Gong for rep-level call intelligence alongside Clari for CRO-level forecasting, since they're answering different questions for different audiences rather than duplicating each other.

Is Chorus worth it without ZoomInfo?
Generally no. Its value proposition is specifically tying call context to ZoomInfo's prospect data, so buying it as a standalone conversation-intelligence tool means paying for a connection to a database you don't have.

Which one is easiest to get approved for a first-time budget?
Clari's lower per-seat price makes it the easiest single-line-item approval, but the actual decision should follow whichever job is most urgent, coaching reps, forecasting accuracy or ZoomInfo integration, not which one has the lowest sticker price.

If you're not sure which of these actually solves the problem your team has right now, get in touch.
